East Coast Consolidation

Shipments are subject to a minimum of ten bikes. We service Brisbane-Sydney-Melbourne depots equally with a FAIR & TRANSPARENT East Coast Consolidation (ECC) System. If the ten-bike minimum isn’t met at a depot, then all riders are required to chip in equally to cover the MINIMUM COST (UP TO MAX $150 EACH) to shuffle bikes between depots to meet the ten-bike minimum. My service to coordinate this effort is free. Any additional bike shuffling to minimise the number of containers used overall is at our cost. This system protects all riders from being told that they need to deliver their bike to a different depot at the last minute. It also protects our business from getting slammed by unforeseen domestic transport costs – and sharing the consolidation cost instead.

Examples of consolidation charge (costs shown are indicative):

• 15 bikes MEL, 10 bikes SYD, 0 bikes BNE
  No bike shuffling required to meet ten-bike minimum – no consolidation charge
  If we send 2 bikes from MEL to SYD to minimise containers then that would be at our cost

• 10 bikes MEL, 4 bikes SYD, 6 bikes BNE
  Send 4 bikes from SYD to BNE
  Cost $1600 (4x$400) / 20 riders = $80 per rider

• 3 bikes MEL, 3 bikes SYD, 4 bikes BNE
  Send 6 bikes from MEL & SYD to BNE on the one run
  Cost $2700 (3x$500 + 3x$400) / 10 riders = $270 each
  However, maximum consolidation charge is $150 per rider x 10  = $1500
  The outstanding difference of $1200 is at our cost

We use Bikes Only Transport for consolidation of bikes if required. Bikes Only Transport are Australia’s largest and most reliable motorcycle transport service – and they’re conveniently Brisbane based. They have a dedicated fleet of 15 trucks servicing all capital cities and many regional areas across Australia. Their east coast run between Melbourne and Brisbane is weekly.   

If you would like to use Bikes Only to transport your bike to one of our depots then please let us know as early as possible. The more bikes we have using this domestic transport service the better the discount we are able to achieve. Please understand that the domestic transport of your bike to our Brisbane-Sydney-Melbourne depots is at your cost. Only the consolidation to achieve the ten-bike minimum between depots is shared.
