1. Reliability always comes first

OBO selects shipping lines, service lanes and sailings for operational reliability. Its model is not driven by the narrow margins or preferential carrier arrangements that influence standard freight forwarding.
HOW OBO WORKS
The depot network comprises 5 primary depots and 10 secondary depots. Primary shipments between primary depots form the foundation of the network timetable. Secondary shipments connecting secondary depots are timed to link overland journeys to/from primary shipments. The network hub is the primary depot located near Kuala Lumpur in the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ), connected to Westports, which recently cracked the top 10 container ports in the world. The network hub enables our own transshipment and reconsolidation operation in a secure warehouse we control. Demand-led shipments are timed to link with all of the above.
Six features that differentiate Own Bike Odyssey (OBO) from standard international freight forwarding.
Most motorcycle shipping disaster stories - including delays, cost blowouts, repeated handling and motorcycle damage - result from Less-than-Container Load (LCL) freight. Others result from a disconnect between Origin and Destination: an origin agent may readily send a motorcycle almost anywhere, but the documentation and processes completed at Origin are critical to successful customs processing and collection at Destination. OBO uses Full Container Load (FCL), with one sealed container dedicated to our customers’ motorcycles from Origin to Destination, and ships only through strategically selected depot partners who specialise in the processes required for foreign-registered used motorcycles for touring purpose. The power of FCL, coupled with capable partners and clear communication at both Origin and Destination, gives OBO control over packing, handling, documentation, carrier and service-lane selection, streamlined customs processing and motorcycle handover - ultimately delivering a reliable service.

Please appreciate that OBO ships full container loads (FCL) only. We do not ship less than container loads (LCL), offer air freight, or ship anywhere at any time. Our service operates on selected routes and is tailored specifically for motorcycle overlanders.
We receive a high volume of broader overlander enquiries and, as much as we would like to assist the wider motorcycle-overlanding community, we simply do not have the capacity and must remain focused on supporting OBO customers.
