How it Works

The operation is dependent on TWO KEY DATES determined by the shipping line:

1. Vessel ETD from the origin port; and

2. Vessel ETA to the destination port.

   • sea freight days = ETA – ETD + 1

ETD, ETA & sea days are shown at the top of a shipment’s registration page. Everything else hinges around these dates. For example, a due date for a task will be expressed as ETD – 3 months.

In general, you can breakdown a shipment into 16 steps:

1. READ
   Terms & Conditions apply to all shipments.
   Shipments Pages provides general information on how the annual shipments work.
   FAQs might fill in any gaps for you.
   
   

2. REGISTER (anytime from ETD – 12 months)
   Communications are managed via our Booking Platform System.
   You only need to provide minimal general information to register.
   You will now be able to see detailed information for your specific shipment.

   
   

3. NOTE MOTORBIKE TRANSPORT METHOD
   We have engineered & built our own stillages here in Australia. For export, our rate includes transport of a stillage to a depot near you – then you can easily frame your bike at home. Or you can frame your bike at the depot. Stillages won’t necessarily be readily available for every single shipment to/from all destinations round the world so other safe transport methods get used, for example, securing motorbikes to car pallets.

   
   

4. QUERY
   If there is anything you are uncertain about then please send your queries in a single message via the Booking Platform. It is critical that you understand the service before we accept your deposit.

   
   

5. DEPOSIT
   Secure your container space. Do not miss out.
   Once the container is full bookings will close.

   
   

6. COMPLETE YOUR PROFILE (due by ETD – 3 months)
   All of your information is managed via the Booking Platform System.

   
   

7. AUSTRALIA DEPOT/S CONFIRMED (ETD – 3 months)
   Ideally FCLs are exported / imported via Brisbane and Melbourne, however, the final decision is determined by best possible overall benefit to riders who have paid their deposit. If there are only 4 out of 48 riders who want Brisbane then there won’t be a Brisbane container. It costs vicinity AU$500 to transport a loose motorbike between Brisbane and Melbourne (or much cheaper in a stillage).

   
   

8. TIMINGS UPDATED (ETD – 3 months)
   ETD & ETA updated as per latest shipping line information. Services are generally weekly so there won’t be much variance from our initial estimates.
   
   

9. COMPLETE YOUR TASKS (due by ETD – 1 month)
   Overlanding has become increasingly difficult from a logistics perspective, so we must be ORGANISED! The information you compile for this shipment is also critical for other aspects of your journey. Tasks include uploading copies of critical documentation and specific photos.

   
   

10. DELIVER (due by ETD – 8 days)
    Deliver your motorbike ready for shipping. Detailed instructions given.
    Generally 2 – 4 weeks free storage provided to take the stress out of delivery.

    
    

11. CONTAINER PACK (ETD – 7 days)
    Bikes consolidated and safely secured into their own shipping container.

    
    

12. ORIGIN EXPORT PROCESS (due by ETD – 3 days)

    
    

13. SEA FREIGHT (ETD to ETA)
    You will be updated every step of the way.

    
    

14. DESTINATION IMPORT PROCESS (ETA + 7 days)

    
    

15. BUFFER PERIOD (generally two weeks)
    Minimum two weeks free storage provided to be used as buffer in the schedule.
    Not always, but we generally recommend motorbike collection from ETA + 3 weeks.

    
    

16. COLLECT FROM SECURE DEPOT
    Process varies between destinations. Some we can have the whole thing done on your behalf before you get there. Others we have an agent escort you through a quick hoop or two.
