ONBOARDING PROCESS

Own Bike Odyssey (OBO) is a rider-focused service that does not accept a deposit until the preceding onboarding steps are complete. Please trust the process: we manage the planning and execution of the Service with the same level of care. Payment of your deposit is the final step and completes your onboarding. The process has two phases: Phase 1 builds compatible demand; Phase 2 begins when the Shipment Portal opens and the shipment moves into operations.

PHASE 1 - BUILD DEMAND

1. Identify your depot-to-depot connection of interest

View the Depot Network Map to identify your origin and destination of interest. Then review the Depot Network for both locations, including network connections, seasonal roles, storage arrangements and local import or export requirements.

2. Register interest to build demand

Use the website's Register Interest to Build Demand form to nominate your origin, destination and preferred timing, including your flexibility before and after that date. Briefly describe your intended route and any preliminary questions. This records demand only; it is not the shipment-specific registration.

SHIPMENT PORTAL OPENS
Compatible demand becomes a specific shipment and the operation moves into its dedicated Shipment Portal.

The Shipment Portal

The Shipment Portal is specialised software dedicated to coordinating each shipment, including Client Tasks, data capture, document uploads and communications. It provides a single point of truth: everything must match as you complete your Tasks.

The two registrations are separate: the website form in Phase 1 records interest to build demand. Once a Shipment Portal opens, the Register Interest action inside that portal begins your shipment-specific onboarding.

PHASE 2 - SHIPMENT OPERATIONS

3. Access the Shipment Portal

High-demand routes may already have Shipment Portals available. For demand-led shipments, OBO creates a Shipment Portal once sufficient compatible interest has been established. Access the portal and read its Overview and Payment pages to understand the intricacies of that specific shipment.

4. Register interest in the Shipment Portal

Select Register Interest inside the Shipment Portal, even if you previously completed the website's Register Interest to Build Demand form. You will receive access to your personal portal and Tasks page. Read the Tasks page and the Terms and Conditions.

5. Complete your profile in the Shipment Portal

Your profile will be mostly completed from Step 4, so complete the remaining information. Note your detailed queries about absolutely everything. Include your anxieties. Now is the time to get bogged down in the weeds if you wish. At the end of the profile, indicate whether you would like a call with OBO after your registration has been reviewed and, if so, select either Google Meet or phone.

6. Pay your deposit to secure your space

Payment of your deposit completes the onboarding process and secures your container space. By paying a deposit, you agree to the Terms and Conditions, which apply to all shipment bookings made with Own Bike Odyssey (ABN 38 584 959 294).

The OBO Service operates using Full Container Load (FCL) processes and does not offer Less than Container Load (LCL) shipping. Container space is limited; once the container is full, the shipment closes - and we wish all the best to the rest!

CONTACT US

Please make all shipment enquiries via the Register Interest to Build Demand form. If you have a general enquiry about our service, please complete this form.

Please appreciate that OBO ships full container loads (FCL) only. We do not ship less than container loads (LCL), offer air freight, or ship anywhere at any time. Our service operates on selected routes and is tailored specifically for motorcycle overlanders.

We receive a high volume of broader overlander enquiries and, as much as we would like to assist the wider motorcycle-overlanding community, we simply do not have the capacity and must remain focused on supporting OBO customers.
